Daniela Cárdenas

(Mexico City, 2005)
Daniela Cárdenas

Her artistic practice draws from the female lineage as a central axis to explore Afro-Mexican identity and the body as territory. She works with expanded painting and incorporates materials such as hair, natural inks, and performance, tracing an aesthetic of resistance, resilience, and rootedness.

Her work seeks to make denied histories visible, reclaim the matrilineal, and open dialogues about identity and emancipation.

An emerging artist represented by LMI Gallery and currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Visual Arts at UNAM, she lives and creates in Mexico City.
